The ABS light has been coming on since we got new tires on our 07 Imperial with a Roadmaster chassis. The codes indicated are SPN 1045 FMI 7 , and SPN 1045 FMI 14. What do these codes mean, and how can they be corrected? Thanks Sam

I tried to find those fault codes but am unsuccessful so far. Since this happened right after the tires were changed there are a couple of possibilities. One is that the knocked the wheel sensor. These sensors are bolted in behind the brakes and read impulses from a small geared wheel. They are pretty easy to see and have a wire coming out of them. The other thing is that some dirts was knock loose and is caught on one of these sensors. Usually there is one small bolt holding these sensors in place and you can take that bolt out and easily pull that sensor out and clean the tip. The last is possible since a human is involved and that is one of those tires instralled is the wrong size. This will also set off the ABS warning because one wheel is moving at a different speed than the others. Go around all the tires with a flashlight and verify the tire sizes.

Maybe not your issue but mine came on in my Roadmaster. I found the fuse holder sort of corroded in the front run box. Pulled the fuse, cleaned it and reinstalled it and the light went out, stayed out for 2 years and it happened a 2nd time. I recleaned it and it reset again. I really need to properly clean the fuseblock.
The wheel sensor mentioned above is more likely it but checking the fuse is easy.

Mike....Question can you reset ABS sensor if you have larger tires on front of coach (i.e. 315's front-295's rear)?

Having larger tires on both fronts will not set off the ABS warning light. Sorry, I should have explained myself better. The ABS monitors and compares the wheel speed on the same axle only. So it is OK to have both fronts be a 315 and all the backs a 295.

Mike. I don't think so.ATC uses axles. ABS senses all 4 wheels. I don't think it would make that much differnce.

The ABS computer only compares wheel speeds only on the same axle. I have 315 tires on the front and 295's on the back and I have no problems.
