We had some of those same problems on our 01 Ambassador, 2 things I was told to do. First was the front wheel bearing nuts needed to be torqued to at least 80 ft lbs, in order for the wheel to be solid enough to not kick the sensor away in most situations. When we did get the ABS light, I would pull over at some point, crawl underneath and pull each sensor back about 1/4" and then re-seat it firmly. Restart the engine and drive less than 2 miles and the ABS would reset itself and light would go out. We did have some difficulty over the 7 years we had that vehicle, but mostly on roads that had irregular waves on them, not tar strips or bridge abutments, and usually only once or twice a year. Hope this may help, Happy Trails Bert
