I have a 2006 Holiday Rambler Endeavor. Upon returning from our last trip I noticed that the road side of the coach is lower than the curb side. Using the side cameras as a quick reference, I found that there is a 1.5 inch "tilt" in the coach. I also checked the rear of the coach and it appears to be about the same.

I cannot find separate height adjustments for each side, but only one control mounted on the centerline of the coach in the vicinity of the front axle.

Can anyone tell me what to do next?

Thanks,
Ken

You'll probably want better info for specifically your year and model of coach. My coach has one air ride control valve in the middle at the front axle. That valve controls ride height for the front. There are two ride height valves at the rear, one on each side at the rear axle. They control rear ride height, and tip from side to side.

I had much the same problem last year. One rear ride height valve had failed. I had an RV shop install all three new valves. They were about $75.00 each, and the labor was about $200.00

I have since learned how to adjust them and have fine tuned my ride height myself.

Many coaches use Haldex valves, some use Hadley. The name is clearly imprinted on the valve.

Sometimes the linkage rod where it connects to the ride height valve sticks because it has rusted and/or the bolt connecting the rod to the valve is a little too tight.

Ken your coach ride height is 8 13/16 front and 9 1/16 rear and I will past the procedure that I used on our old dip also I recently set the ride height on our 2000 dyn and found out that measuring the air bags would not work on the 2000 Dyn only the old procedure would work so call Monaco and make sure about the air bag procedure before doing it.

Ride Height 99 dip

Note in 2006 Monaco changed to measuring the distance from the bottom of the top plate of the air bags to the top of the bottom plate. This is for the 98 thru 2000 dip,The old procedure is easier for me because of the double donut type air bags. You will need to find a level concrete or asphalt pad before you start

using 1/2" wood dial cut at 8" and 10" and coach level with safety stands and chassis aired up. adjust front with the 8" wood dial from top of H frame (this measurement is to be taken at the back of the H frame that goes from one side to the other) to bottom of the frame of the coach by adjusting the ride height valve in the middle and over the front axle with a long rod attached to front axle.On the back use the 10" rods to adj the two ride height valves as with the front.

If the measurement is off, loosen the adjusting lock nut at the eccentric slot on the valve. Take a 7/16 wrench and 7/64 twist drill bit and crawl under the front of your coach. Locate the front jack. Just forward of the front jack, you should be able to sit up. You will see a narrow, vertical shaft. That shaft connects to a metal plate fastened to a short tubular piece of plastic. There is an elongated slot in the metal plate with a nut sticking out. Loosen the nut Move the plastic arm (tube) up to raise suspension height, this will inflate all the front air bags. Move the plastic arm (tube) down to lower suspension height, this will deflate the air bags. Make adjustments in small increments. When satisfied insert the drill bit in the plastic arm and valve body, the bit is there to hold the arm while tighten the 7/16 nut to 60 to 80 inch lb. After you finish blow down and start the engine and re air and check the height again adjust if necessary.

Are the measurements supposed to be the same between the two methods of measuring (bags vs h-frame)?

Ray I was led to believe that by Monaco tech a few yrs ago and didnt check until a couple months ago when I checked the ride height on our 2000 Dynasty, front 9.5 & rear set at 11 inches I using the old method H frame measurement after setting the rear at 11 inches I decided to see how close the air bags were since the Dyn does not have the double donut bags and are easier to measure, the air bag measurement was 8 3/4 the best I can remember it is posted on the forum about a month or so back and I was expecting it to be 11.

It's interesting because the ride height measurement and adjustment procedure contained in the PDF file at precisionframe.com indicates the air bag mounting plate method should be used and another PDF file on there lists the measurements but doesn't indicate what method to use to get those measurements.

The Monaco website FAQ talks only of the "old" method of measurement. And before anyone says something about my owner's manual...sorry...none of that info is in my owner's manual.

Per the airbag mounting plate method, my rig is pretty squared away. Will check the H-frame to main rail method tomorrow and see what happens. My rig sits a little low on the passenger side on a flat surface.

Didn't mean to hijack the thread...it's all about the same thing though!

Ray I am confident that your coach should be set with the old method I just dont know what you are supposed to do with the tag because I think the tag can effect the ride height. If you are leaning to one side one of the rear ride height valves is out of spec.
It would be nice to know exactly when or what year that the procedure changed, if I had used the 11 inches on the rear air bags our coach would look one of those jacked up 4X4 PU Trucks.

I have not had this issue so far but I will recommend a Yahoo Group that may be of interest to you.

ramblin_pushers : For Holiday Rambler Diesel Pusher Owners

The Ramblin Pushers group is the site used by the Special Interest Chapter 419 of the HR RV Owners Club. You do not need to be a member of either the club or the chapter to register and get involved in the conversation. The membership is about 800 strong and is dedicated to the maintenance from the chassis up of HR diesel pushers. We have a week long Maintenance Session annually in Goshen IN each spring. You need not be a member of the club or chapter to attend that either.

Safe travels.
