Hello All,
My 2001 Monaco Dynasty 36' has Bilstein Shocks all around. When in for service the Tech told me one of the front Shocks was leaking and should be replaced. The Coach has 48k miles.
I have two questions are these Bilsteins under Warranty, I know my Auto Bilsteins are Lifetime? Since I have 4 front & 4 Rear i was planing on replacing two one on each side that were in the same position (both to the rear of the Air Bag on both sides). I am happy with Bilsteins so I do not plan on changing to another brand.
Any suggestions or comments would b e welcome.
Barrier

Barrier,
The lifetime warranty is to the original owner. Your plan sounds reasonable but I would replace the other 2 on that axle asap. Your plan is certainly better than what you have now.

Sounds like a good plan to me as well. Please tell me why you are happy with the Bilstein's. I just bought an 05 Monaco 8 bags and monroe shocks and the ride seems harsh, porpoises, and wanders a bit. Any suggestions?

Hi fwh, I did go with the Bilsteins. I got the 4 for the front as Steve suggested, I am most probably going to get the 4 rear as well. I did a lot of research and spoke with a Bilstein Engineer. On my MH the only leaks that were found were on the front. I was told that these should last over 100k. I imagine that a bad seal caused the leaks on the original.
If you go with the Bilstein Make Sure you get the latest version.

This is from a Spartan site, they had the Best price. For my MH a 2001 Dynasty the number was BE5-F629-HO. The number for the 02-06 should read BE5-F628-HO Not B46-1724-P2 Those numbers are the Old Numbers with the wrong valving.

My understanding of the warranty on Bilsteins is they are warranted for life to the original purchaser which is the manufacturer of the motorhome. If you are out of warranty w/the OEM, then Bilstein will sell you new shocks which will be warranted to you for your lifetime ownership of the rig.
