Came across this thread and found it to be what i might need to do. Our is a 98 Dynasty with Allison tranny. Had it 2 years and it was well maintained ( 70,000 miles ). My question is...how do you know what kind of fluid is already in the differential ?
2nd question would be, since you do not get all the fluid out can you mix different types of fluid ?

Thanks

Chuck

Chuck, your owners manual should have the specs for all your fluids. My 2000 Dynasty manual specified synthetic 75W-90 meeting API GL-5 or MT-1 specs. I bought a case of Valvoline off of ebay cheaper than I could get locally.

Thanks...i learn alot from your postings ! Luckily this coach has been maintained well. I am making progress in getting the critical components up to where i have a base line to work off of ! You just never know what the previous owners did if you don't have the maintenance records !!!

You're welcome Chuck. It's a good idea to bring all maintenance current--especially if you don't know what's gone on before. There was some good advice from others in this thread.

Thanks. I just got back my coolant analysis report i sent to JG Lubricants. Said the 'nitrate level' is low. This is why i did the report. Now to flush the system out and replace with 'Final Charge'. Good thing i can do my own maintenance !!!

That's a good catch that could have led to problems down the road.
