Diesel fuel filler neck problem part 2

In a previous post entitled “diesel fuel filler pipe problem” I mentioned the threads mysteriously disappeared from inside the fuel filler pipe making it impossible to screw the fuel cap back on. The threads are NOT lodged/jammed in the cap!
64 million question:
Is there a replacement filler pipe insert with threads which will accept the gas cap?Click image for larger version

First two pics are of the filler pipe without threads...pic 3 is the cap
Thanks

You might want to ask a moderator to attach this new thread to the previous thread you started. This is very confusing because we must keep referring to your previous thread to review what has already been suggested.

Sorry, your filler necks are way different than mine. My filler necks are about 6" long, with outer threads that the brass caps screw onto.

Hi Terry,
I saw your post on the BAC forum too. These pictures help.

As I mentioned in my other reply (and as noted by Wideglide) my Beaver has the threads on the outside of the filler neck and has a brass cap (with internal threads).

It's hard to see in you picture - but is it possible you have external threads too and there's so much gunk built up around the neck you cant see them? If that were the case then I would think a prior owner just stuck that plastic fuel cap in the hole because the brass cap was lost. --Although that filler neck looks more like something from a car or light truck (it's thin metal).

What does the other filler neck look like?

Worse case, it would not be hard to replace that filler neck. It's just a short metal neck mounted to the body opening with a flexible fuel filler hose clamped to it running to the tank.

The cap was not epoxied to the filler pipe ...I have owned 2005 Beaver for three years. I always filled from the drivers side and there was never a problem with the cap until a week ago when I filled up only to discover the inside threads were missing from the filler pipe. I asked the previous owner but he said he never changed anything.

It does not look like my fuel cap and tank either, Monaco's are different for sure! Mine has the brass cap and the threads are on the outside of the tank neck!
That said, I would look for one of the expandable plugs with the T handle, that would fit, and you can turn the handle to tighten it up!
Drill a couple of small holes, attach a steel fishing leader, so this one won't get lost! Good luck! Rail!

PS, if your old cap was a vented cap, you will have to vent the new cap also!

Didn't I share a couple cheap inserts from link... in other post you would need to measure it up with a caliper $10 at harbor freight or Menards or make an impression on paper Or cardboard if caliper won't fit in space..Or you can try to get behind the panel and try to replace full neck . it probably goes to hose after neck. The chance of someone else that changed theirs and finding your post with your missing insert part # may be pretty slim.
