DIY Front Brakes

Looking at the front rotors I see the little cracking from heat on the rotors. Shoes need replacing as well. Anyways does anyone have the Torque Specs on the front wheels on a Roadmaster Chassis. Any Torque specs on any brake bolts. Or any Ideas on where to locate a Service Manual?

I am still checking out places around that turn Rotors that big, Oh and the front axle is a Spicer. The number says 1482TS100. Do these numbers mean anything? I took pictures of the Tag on the Axle its just a bar code. and I would love to hear if anyone has done the front disc themselfs, And if they have any specs they would care to share. I would Appreciate it very much.

The axle part number is of no help. It is the "Wheel Ends" (hubs) that you need to know. If you pull the wheel off, there will be a part number on the hub and calipers. Since your coach is a 2004 (mine is a 2005) I'll bet we have the same front brakes - which are Bendix ESD-225

There is a part number and min thickness molded right on the disk. You can see them from under the coach looking at the inner part of the disk. You don't have to take the wheel off to see them but you may have to raise the wheel so you can turn it to find the numbers.

Also, be careful backing the brake adjuster off. It is designed to break the adjuster bolt before breaking the adjuster itself.
They are tough but breakable. I think its a 8 mm allen wrench size.

Not sure how much torque is to much, 350 lbin maybe?

All that mount hardware for brakes themselves is whomped on!
Lug torque is stamped on the lugnuts.
I think the calipers are 14 or 16 mm allen or star.

HEAVY parts!

Good time to re oil wherl bearings also.
