Windecker, I'm not seeing what you're concerned about?
What year is your coach?
Does anyone know what year Monaco started adding the gusset or the X brace?

The metal to metal is causing the rusty streak running down the brace that the arm is attached to. I presume it is wear between the mount bolt and metal bushing pressed into the center of the rubber bushing which is pressed into the arm.
My 99 was not a tag and did not have the x brace. I believe previous posts indicated 2008 or 2009 when the gusset was added stock.

So, these pictures show the new gusset? It's hard to tell since everything is the same color. I think the gusset plate is this. Yes?

Yes it is, the gusse is on the back side of the 3x3 tube from the frame to the bottom of the tube. On my coach it cracked on the front of the tube just below the frame.

Mike,
Yes, your arrow is pointing to the gusset. To clarify, on my coach this was the way the coach came from the factory.

And you have no cracking - right? That factory added gusset prevented yours from cracking?
My coach is 2005, but I have the M10S chassis so I don't know if this problem occurs on my coach too. I plan to get under under and it look as soon as I get a chance.

Trying to understand, the 3x3 tube cracked, or the gusset cracked?
Thanks

I did a careful inspection and there are no cracks. I assume but do not know for sure that the gussets have helped prevent cracks.
That being said I hope saying this has not jinxed me :-)

Vito. A,
The cracks seem to be near the top of the 3 x 3 tube. I have seen a few of these cracks, all that do not have gussets.

Being more clear, the 3x3 tube is cracked not the gusset.

Finally got my coach up as high as it would go on the air bags and placed some jack stands under the frame for safety. I took a look at the 3" x 3" vertical posts as well as the X brace. I could not find any cracks.
I need to take a closer look in daylight. Also, my 07 had the gussets but my 04 does not.
IF I could get it up in the air a little higher I don't think it would be that hard adding the gussets. Need to make some templates out of cardboard and then cut out the gusset material.

The "X" braces crack off at the top welds near the floor; the welds at the bottom don't break. If the posts are cracked, the braces stay on the posts, but break off at the top. If all the welds are intact, no problem.

I am still baffled by all this.
My 43PBQ has over 90K on it and my old Signature had roughly 120K on it. No issues "yet " So, wondering, is this a manufacture welding defect meaning some do and some don't OR just is or just isn't? Is it a drive habit thing, loading thing, steet condition thing...
I maneuver extremely tight EVERY time I go out as I have tight corners and have to back a small trailer down a windy driveway into the barn so I don't think it is a tight turn thing. I have a very steep hill with a stop at the top I have to accelerate out of almost every time we go out and have had plenty of hard braking stops.
Just wondering, does anybody "really" know what causes this cracking?
