Hi everyone.
Does anyone have the specs for front wheel bearing torque, etc. Due to have them repacked and was wondering what to tell a truck tire place the spec's should be. I searched the threads looking for info, but nothing came up - other than changing over to oil versus grease. I wanted to stay with grease.

We have a 2000 Monaco Windsor.

Thanks for any input!

If the mechanics working on your vehicle need to be told how to do their job...it's time for another mechanic(s)

Had mine done in December at a Diesel service center and they knew what it was and done a great job. Like the previous poster said, if they need to be told, then they don't need to be in business.

Downsizer,
The torque on my Alcoa aluminum wheels is 450 ft pounds. Takes a truck air wrench to get them off and on.
good luck.

You can look at the plate on the front of the middle of the axle and find who makes it and the type/part number. Monaco uses alot of Dan Spicer axles but you need to check. These are tryck axles and most places like Frieghtliner do them all the time. It is important that they use a dial indiactor to set the slack and not just a guess. Try this manual for Dana Spicer axles.

Thanks Mike! Great info.....For those that haven't seen the forest through the trees yet, a good mechanic will look up specs for anything he needs... what worries me is the "know it all" that doesn't and costs me a fortune 2 months later because he was too lazy and "thought" he knew it all... there are different specs for everything out there!

Again, thanks Mike - right as always!

Not sure what you found out for Torque Spec, On our 2001 Ambassador 38pbt on a little lighter chassis, the spec was 85 lbs. Any less than that and it would move around just enough to move the ABS sensor on a really bumpy or wavy road. On the heavier chassis, might be different. If they were kept at 85, the abs sensors would stay where they belong. Hope this helps a little, Happy Trails Bert
