On my 2001 Diplomat it was behind a port cut in the back wall of the forward-most storage compartment on the passenger side of the coach. There is a white plastic threaded plate (4"-6"?) that unscrews. The sending unit is mounted on the fuel tank and is accessible through that hole.

My 02 38' Diplomat located the sending unit on top of the tank adjacent to the driver side fuel fill. I had to unfasten the side panel and swing it up out of the way for access.

The sender on mine is a 4" diameter plate with 4 wires attached. I believe the sender was secured with 5 #12 machine screws.

If your sender is a Centroid product like I have, the sender when you remove it is a copper tube which extends to the bottom of the tank. If the wires are all making good contact there probably isn't any option to replacing the sender, assuming the gauge is good. Centroid has a good website and will answer your questions by E-Mail Only. If you don't live in Florida they will sell direct to the user.

We know Monaco has a lot of grounding problems so I would check the ground wire first.

The Centroid site has schematics for their sender unit.

Good Luck

Keith
