I am installing an electric brake controller on a 2002 Monaco Diplamat , where or how do you tie into the brake lite switch. Its air operated ,If I tie into it when I put on the exhaust brake , the trailer brakes will be on all the way down the hill which is not good.I have been thinking about adding a brake lite switch on the pedal and isolating the whole system. does anybody have any ideas???

Find the wire that turns on the brake lights, and use that. The brake lights don't come on when you use the engine brake, do they?

What you need to do is tie into the Brake Sig lead. It is located in the front run bay under the driver's window. It is located at the Monaco 2 box which is below the large fuse box. It is in the plug on the right as you look at the Monaco 2 box, the front row and the second wire from the right side of the front row. Should be marked Brake Sig on the wire.

See the pictures below. The blue device is where I spliced into this wire.

On my 2004 HR Endeavor the brake lights DO come on when exhaust/pac brake comes on.

I installed on 99 Windsor and I have to install a diode between the wires that feed the brake lights.. Meaning that there are two 12volt signals that feed the brake lights.. One from the exhasut brake and one from the service brakes.. Diode prevents the 12volts from the exhaust brake from feeding back to the brake controler. I didn't want the trailer brakes on when the exhaust brake was turning on brake lights..
