Lubing brake caliper camshaft and brake slack adjuster

I was talking to the Monaco tech support about lubing the caliper camshaft and the slack adjuster
as there are three grease fittings on each side of the axle for all the axles.
He said, pump twice and you are done.

However the monaco lubrication manual goes thru a detailed procedure instead that involves rotating the nut on slack adjuster counterclockwise, applying grease, removing the pressure relief valve, opening the locking pawl, rotating the slack adjusting nut clockwise, etc etc. This has to be followed by a static brake adjustment.

I am curious, if all of these are necessary for a average 5k/yr driving.

I would be very leery about doing any adjusting on the brakes. I would suggest going with the techs advice. You could always call back and see if you get the same answer from differant tech.

You would need to remove the rear wheels to make the adjustments and lube like your book says. Two shots of grease is sufficient. More and you could introduce grease inside the wheels and loose your brakes.

I ended up just using two shots at the zerk close to the calipers, three shots in the middle zerk and four shots at the slack adjuster (farthest from caliper and the old grease oozed out).
I plan on pumping the brakes hard five or six times so the slack adjuster will adjust itself, when i start the coach the next time and get to above 90psi + pressure
