your saying when you turn on the 12V house switch it will not activate?
bad switch or bad activation solenoid?
iam assuming the obvious that your house batterys are charged

This is DC chassis?
What does your onboard monitor indicate?
I would think DC house side would HAVE to be present if you say you are getting AC (thru inverter?)
Can you start the genset?

all he said was he has AC as in shore power so yes it will have flow through
and the DC that runs the inverter is direct flow and not through the 12V house shutoff switch system
not relevant to what he asked as said either he does not know how to activate the control switch or the switch is dead or the solenoid or batterys are stone stone dead(very unlikely)

one will assume such (shore power)because if he was trying to get by invertion iam about 100% sure he would have said so?

Thanks for all of your help it turns out it was the salesman switch near the door. I don't know why but when you shut down the batteries it does something to that switch

That switch is just a "dumb" switch. It controls a relay that is a set/reset solenoid. That is to say that the switch just sends a momentary signal to it and then the relay latches itself on until toggled off or you lose power such as turning off the batteries.
Many people bypass that solenoid due to failures etc. I bypassed mine because the air conditioners will not come on if it is accidently bumped by one of the fur babies.

The salesman swtich, as you call it, is the battery disconnect, the switch (And the remote solenoid) it operates shoudl not be damaged by "Shutting down the batteries" but, it may need to be operated.
I had a problem with mine back in the days of warranty.. But rather than find someone to replace it I tried a 1st level "Fix". This "fix" makes some assumptions.
1: That the switch is dirty and needs cleaning
2: that it is a "Self Cleaning" switch.
Self cleaning switches clean themselves every time you use them.. But if they get tranished/dirty enough the damage may be too great to self clean in use.. So the solution is to remove power from the switch.. Disconnect it or disconnect ALL batteries or (Simplist) pull the fuse that feeds it.....
Then cycle the switch (push/release) liek 50-100 times.
Restore power.. And WOW in my case it worked, still does
Then if it works you need to make a decision.....
Do I: A: go out and buy Lotto Tickets cause "When you hot, you hot"
Or B: Avoid gambling cause I done used up all my luck for this week?
(OH, Adding to the humor of that last bit is where I was parked when I did it...Moose Lodge.... Las Vegas, NV)

ahha just as I told u. LOL ;; Of course the switch will shut off if u shut off the dc power to the solenoid that the switch activates.its not like a lite switch where its a sold on/off mechanical style;; its a monetary spring loaded switch
Opps I see YC1 has already splained the situation
