34000 miles on chassis, never had this happen before. Drove about 25 miles then stopped at a view point for 30 minutes. As I pulled out and reached 25 mph the front end vibrated so hard I had to pull over right away. Nothing is loose, was going to limp ahead at slow speed but it did not happen until 35 mph. Stop again and still nothing found. Next try it did not happen until 45 and then later 55. Next day no problem at all! No weights are missing. I was told years ago that Monaco does not put balance material in the Goodyear 670 RV tires. Anyone know for sure or can shed some light on my problem? We will be in Seattle Monday

If it was a Jeep I would check the steering damper. If there's one on your steering that could be your problem. It looks like a sideways mounted shock absorber.

The problem is with the coach front end. I think it is tire balance. Don't know why it went away and don't want it to come back again.

Our 2000 Safari Zanzibar did that a couple of times at very slow speed when I hit a bump. I'd swear the front end was going to come off!! This was after about 40k miles. Tire wear coupled with the steering damper being inadequate was the culprit. We had steer safe installed and it never did it again. We sold it about 20k miles later.

If it was a tire balance problem then it would be present all the time plus time balance problems do not show up at 25 MPH. There is slack somewhere in the steering gear either caused by a loose component or by a bad tie rod end.

Mike Cantor is exactly correct. What you were experiencing is dynamic wheel oscillation (wobble ) that is caused by worn front end components, usually the tie rod ends, wheel bearings, or the pitman arm. It will happen again under the same circumstances.

I will take it to a shop here in Seattle tomorrow, I hope. Everything appears tight. We shall see if an expert agrees with me!

Before you drive it make sure all the lugnuts are tight on the wheels and do a good visual check on the steering linkage. Grab hold of stuff and shake it hard.

I have the Goodyear G670RV 275 70 R22.5 and Balance is my problem. Les Schwab in Mcminnville OR rebalance them and they are almost like new. The problem was caused by traveling from East to West on I80 with a high crosswind, about 30 degrees of steering wheel to the left. This caused the outside edge on both right side edges of the tires to wear off leading to unbalance. The unbalance then caused flat spots! Now I am thinking about replacing the front tires, over 5 years old with TOYO tires. Schwab did not have them and did not know what TOYO size to replace them with.

Any help with TOYO size or other fix would be appreciated. Also, thank you for the above responses.
