It is most likely a Dana front axle and hubs. If you look on the middle of the front axle I beam on the front side there should be a plate with the Dana model number.

In the Dana Axle .pdf attached mine is the middle one listed for my 2004 Signature.

The Axle manual has there different type axles listed but you can identify which axle you have by looking at the kindpin parts blowup because all three are different. Mine is the EFA axle and I would guess yours is also. That manual also covers setting the bearing preload and checking it with a dial indicator. If the guy you are working with is not going to do it that way then I would suggest going else where. You also need to replace the inner grease seals. That Dana manual also lists which oils should be used. I use the Mobil 1 synthetic gear lube 80w-90 GL5. That Lucas Hub oil is not specified that it is GL4 or GL5 and it is 80w140 oil which is too thick. I called Lucas and asked them if it was GL4 or GL5 and they couldn't tell me.

Let me know which axle you have.

Mike.
I checked axle and found out that it is a spicer, the tag has been painted over this is what I can read. The tag shows the axle is a model #E-1200W- beam #971615- serial #HUOO5142 the rest has been covered. There is some casting #s SPICER 971114 and E541p4428704 I don't know if can help but any info would help.. thanks

That would actually be a Dana Spicer E12000 meaning it is an E family 12,000 lb axle That model is covered in that PDF manual I attached in that post I have also attached the link for parts breakdown for that axle. You should be able to call Stemco and they will tell you which hubs you need

I think if you call Stemco up they can tell you right away. They do this all the time. If they want something more then it will either be in that parts breakdown or the manual.

There is nothing changed inside your hub the only thing you need is the outer hub cover and a new inner seal. Also if I might add a recomendation I would use Mobil 1 75W-90 GL5 synthetic gear oil in the hubs. One quart should fill both of them. That is also recommended by Dana Spicer for the hubs.

Bob, pop a front hubcap and take a close look at the stamped steel grease cap currently on your MH and see if there is a number stamped on it. If so then give me the number.

Mike -- I have used Lucas Hub Oil in both the tag, & front hubs for 35000 miles -- It don`t leave the bearings dry after a long period of sitting -- I had wet hubs installed when I discovered that Monaco didn`t -- Bill Willard
