Coach: 2003 Monaco Executive 44ft with tag axle

I noticed that the tire on my tag axle is closer to the mudflap / fender on one side than the other. One side measures about 2 inches from the rear fender, the other side is 3.5 inches away from the mudflap / fender. Normal wear on both tag axle tires, no observed issues going down the road and drives straight as an arrow... Is this normal? Is the tag axle adjustable - like in need of an alignment ?

Thanks for the help!

I would be a lot more worried about the measurements from the tag to the other rear axel/tires. Mud flaps would be of no consequence..........

No doubt.. Between tires is the same distance.

Measured this am, tag tire to rear of fender well 1 inch on driver side, 3 inches on pass side.

It has not changed, I was just guessing on the distance for the 1st post.. Is the tag movable, like for an allignment?

It is possible that the body is off. What is more important is the relationship to the frame. Looking at my tag it looks pretty fixed by its trailing arms. The real test is to use a plumb bob and mark points on the ground from each side of the front axle then do it from equal points of both sides of the tag and you can also do it with the drive axle. After you have chalk marks on the ground then move the MH and measure the distances front to back and in an X from front to back. Bet you will find the frame and axles in perfect alignment.

Thanks for that great idea... I did that today and everything appears in perfect alignment. I also spoke to a body and frame expert and he assured me This was normal, and that if it was not in alignment the tag tires would show very obvious tread wear patterns. The tag tire still look new and just like all the rest thank goodness!

Thats great and I checked and as far as everybody can tell me there is no alighnment that can be down on the drive or the tag axles. If you look at the trailing arms or sometimes called swing arms the connection point is one fixed hole. I guess if a bushing went then it would be out of alignment but then the only thing that can be down is to change the bushing.
