Lots of fun
I reenacted with the 6th NC then the 3NC when the unit split for about 10 - 12 years - the 6th and 3rd were also Continental Line Revolutionary and we also had 3rd US mounted Infantry - armed with henrys no less - we had about 100 - 120 at full strength which allowed us to do a stand alone encampment / skirmishs. Wife also participated untill she was late in pregnacy when I quit becaus of job change.
That was 30 years ago. I still enjoy going and the smell of black powder

My greatest admiration goes out to those who pursue this wonderfully educational and extremely meaningful living history of a very dark time in our nation. I am always impressed by the attention to even the smallest details.

With profound respect for all of the casualties in this horrible conflict,
Jim

Attached is a photo that I shot at the reenactment of the Pea Ridge Battle in Arkansas in 2009. I did some processing to it give it a more 1800's feel. Just click on the photo for a larger size.

Last September my son and I did the Battle of Carnifex Ferry in West Virginia. It was an early (1861) battle in which the fate of West Virginia hung. West Virginia broke away from Virginia after the loss of 3 battles by the Confederacy.
