We have been caching for a little over a year. We currently have 786 finds. All of which are in Florida.

We are heading out next week to north Georgia for a few days then we are heading to Charleston, SC for about 3 days. We plan to cache in the afternoons when we stop driving the MH for the day.

Does anyone else out there like to cache? Once we started we were hooked on it. We started out using Google Earth and no GPS'r. After our first 38 finds using Google Maps we decided to invest in a Garmin 60CSx handheld GPS'r. We added City Navigator NT maps to it so we have a map with driving directions. We also purchased a PDA online for 30 bucks and the lifetime membership for GSAK (geocaching swiss army knife) In geocaching.com I write a query for caches in the area that we want to hunt. When I get the results of the query emailed to me I open them in GSAK and filter out the caches. Then I download the information into the PDA and to Mapsource. From Mapsource I transfer the cache locations to the GPS'r.

We have been to four Geo-events over the past year and have met a lot of really nice . It is a really nice hobby for everyone.

Our geo-name is also randco.

Happy trails and happy caching.

I have a hard enough time finding the campground and spot. To much snipe hunting when I was a child most of the time I was left holding the bag. Good luck in your endeavors.

We limited out early, silver salmon fishing in Valdez last August, so we took my 10 yr old son geocaching. We all had a great time. I know we will be doing more caching in the future. I have a Garmin 60cs. We plan to do some caching on our bikes this summer, when we aren't camping.

People that we know have children and they love it. I think the adults like it as much as the kids do. I know I get such a kick out of finding the caches. My father passed away last year before we found geocaching. He would have loved it. Sometimes I swear I hear him chuckle when we find a cache.

We enjoy getting out and geocaching as well. The most fun is taking the grand kids out. It gets them out of the house and away from video games plus having the technology of GPS and downloading off the computer to prepare for an outing adds to their interest. If you want to know how to quickly program in the coordinates just give your GPS to an 10 year old. How many times have I heard "Give it to me Grandpa I'll show you how to do it." We actually find the kids have more patience than us to seek out a cache.

786 in a year, wow. Congratulations. We've been 'caching for about a year also but only have 36 finds. It's fun and the grandboys think it's kool. We have a Garmin Oregon and can transfer the cache's from GSAK directly to the GPS.

If you want to see what geocaching is all about go to geocaching.com. When the page opens click on Play on the left side if the screen under the word GEOCACHING. Under Play click guide. Read through some of the information.

After doing some reading click on Play again then click on Hide & Seek a Cache. Under the heading Seek a Cache... find by Postal Code.
Enter your zip code and change the radius from 100 to something like 25 then click on Go. A page called All Geocaches will be displayed. In the upper right hand side of the page you will see Map this Location. Click on it. A map will be displayed and the geocaches will be displayed on the map. Select the map type you want to view on the left side of the page under Map Types.

Satellite will give you a Google earth view. Hybrid will add the street names to the satellite map.

If you have never gone geocaching, but like a challenge like treasure hunting, then geocaching is for you.

Just started geocaching this spring. We live on the East coast of Canada and I retreived a geocoin from here and dipped in Daytona Beach where I retreived aTB and took both with us to Greece from Daytona dipping along thr way. We also retreived a geocoin in Athens and left the geocoin from home on the Greek Isle of Crete. The TB from Daytona we left in a cache not far from our home. The owners of these item were quite thrilled to follow their travels. Great sport

I do it to pass some time when I feel the need for something to do. Also do it to find interesting spots more then just for finding the cache itself. Found some really interesting spots I never would have seen myself such as
