"Jamis" is a very good bike. I ride a "Surly, Long Haul Trucker". It's a touring bike that I like very much. I carry it in my toad ( Chevy Tahoe). Need to ride it more than I do when we are on the road. Getting too old I guess, I seem to come up with too many reason not to ride everyday

We both ride Trek Roadmaster bikes. I do ride more than my dw , but she does ride with me from time to time. I take my dog and she runs along side me with a special hook up.

I know this thread is a little old but sure glad to see bike enthusiasts out there. We are three yrs. away from going FT. Sure hope where ever we are, there are bike paths, trails or lanes to ride.
I have a Trek DS 8.3. DW has a older Trek that we will upgrade before we FT.
You guys have some pretty nice bikes, I'm probably not riding at your levels but really enjoy the DS with disc brakes. Saved my A** a couple of times and would not go back. I ride about 4-5 days a week. DW a little less.
Let's me drinks beer when I want and keeps the Doc from grousing.
Safe travels and happy riding.
Tom

we have a couple of Electra's-they fit- We have biked the New River Railroad bed (NC) and the Inverness Fl Railroad bed (our Favs) We also just did the Alafia State Park Bike Trails.

Great Part of RVing- we are late 60's, still cruising after all these years.

DPSDENNY: You are the first person I have run across that RVs and pedals a Surly...more special the Long Haul...WOW. I ride the recumbent type cycles and have had lots of opportunity to fall in with the touring crowd. Surly is a name for the few...and it is one macho beast of a bike.

Yep, still riding when the weather and the terrain are agreeable with by bad knees and ankle . It really is the only exercise I can do. It bums me out when the campgrounds or surrounding area is not conducive to my (now) level of comfort. Unfortunately Mtb's are not in my stable anymore. I also run my big Chocolate Lab alongside, and he loves it. It's good for both of us. I've been thinking of an electric bicycle, but not sure yet on that.
