We will be kicking off the 2014 Lucas Oil Drag Boat Racing Series next week in Phoenix. It will be at Wild Horse Pass, formerly Firebird Raceway.

Is that you driving? What class? There are still a few of those hulls running today, in various setups. A couple of twin turbos boats are also pretty competitive. There was a twin turbo alcohol boat that tried to run with blown alcohol for several years. He would rip off an amazing pass ever so often, but just didn't have any consistency to compete with the class bullies.

Yep that's me...it was in the early '80s just after Pastorini went into the crowd and killed a couple people. SDBA outlawed TX19 in blown classes so we ran it in a 93 to 100 (or 102...toooo long ago) bracket class.

Probably Stock or Mod Eliminator (10.00 sec index) these days with that MPH. Is it still together and running?

It's all there except a couple braided lines but it would need to be freshened up from setting so long. Always inside. Tom Morrow built the pump....ran 100 @ 6,100 prm. It could be yours! I have a 18' Mirage w/2.5 Merc short shaft motor and a 36' Eliminator that I use.

Good deal! That boat needs to get out on the lake.
The 4 wide was fun the 1st year, but I'm not a big fan either. Too distracting.
Just got home from our season opener in PHX. One of our top fuel drivers just went to FL and bought this beauty. It's a 2001 and it is spotless.

We have been watching Sprint boat racing Held in Washington and then after comes drag boat racing I think its TX and/or Az, on the Tube, is that the races you are in? We want to start following the races when we start fulltime next fall.
Sure enjoy them,
Thanks, Tim

It could have been either Marble Falls or San Angelo, TX and Phoenix/Chandler, AZ from 2013. They filmed the season opener last weekend but I'm not sure when it will air. They don't have the 2014 TV schedule up yet.
