Bad joints? Smoke 'em anyway, then you won't care if you have a hobby.

USNWife--it may be that you are lonely if you spend every day alone. Are there other people around that you might get to know and spend some time with? Personally, I'm trying to wean myself off the internet, as I spend waaaaaaay too much time online!!

Learn to play an instrument. My husband is learning the concertina and I am learning the tin whistle. Both are quite small instruments and easily transportable and there are lessons either on DVD and/or the internet. We are having a great time with it and it is keeping our brains working (somewhat).

Also make very simple small tie quilts and donate them to social services or hospital nurseries for babies or small children that are abused and removed from their homes.

Compile your family history. A lot of research can be done on-line. If this would interest you, please send me a pm (private message) and I will get you started. I have been involved in doing my own research as well as helping others for more than 20 years.

Use the car and take him to work on a few days a week. He can't be using the car at work unless he is in sales. Look for bus routes near where you are staying and go visit the area. Don't just sit there and be bored. Go enjoy the area.

USNWife, I hate being bored too. If you are interested in learning how to knit, crochet or other crafts, please feel free to check out my website, Dawn's Deals. I have how to pages for knitting and crocheting. I have videos to show how to do either along with free patterns. I started this website when I had to quit my job because my husband became more disabled. He now has the beginnings of dementia, so he sleeps a lot. I cannot be very far from him because he is very confused when he wakes up a lot of the time. My website and my Facebook page are my connection to the world now. You might consider starting a website about cooking. If you are interested in something like that private message me and I will be more than happy to help you as much as I can.
