Im an unbelievable bored rvhousewife. My hubby works all day and is gone with the only car for hours. I am trying to find a hobby to fill my days and maybe bring in some extra cash at some point. I dont have a highly out of the box creative style except when it comes to my baking(so thankful we have an oven).
Big Poppa says I cant bake constantly or else he and coworkers will get too pudgy, so need to find another outlet. Anybody have suggestions?
I dont have a good camera, and am scared to death of birds(feel free to laugh), dont know if beading is something I can do with bad joints. Just some back story when thinking of helping thoughts.
Thanks in advance,
Usnwife23454

when my folks were working in chicago last year, mom made quilts to sell at the craft fairs
hey an idea get hubby to get you a good video camera and make short demo rv cooking videos, to highlight shirt cuts or better ways you have found whilst using the smaller rv oven

Since you have access to a computer..how about some of the games you can get on here..(from Facebook)
Farmville, Words with Friends (which is a scrabble type game) which you can play with someone you might know on the internet, or they just randomly give you a challenger..Big City NY is another one..
Ever try Sudoku? That might be fun.
Something else I did for awhile was I became a pen pal to someone in the service..giving them encouragement, thanking them for serving our country and protecting us. Forgot the name of the organization at the moment, but if interested I can get the information for you. It was very nice hearing back from someone who appreciated you writing to thank them.
Anyway, good luck, and I will try to keep thinking of things for you to do.

What type of RV park are you staying at? Any activities there? Are you close to public transit and could possibly get involved in the local community or potentially come part-time job, possibly even at the RV park you're staying at?

I'm spending my time knitting/crocheting new curtains...much easier than sewing them.
I also bake biscotti for a local coffee shop

How about joining a nice cooking forum? You can talk about food with others?

The best hobby you can have is volunteering and giving back to your community.
Sentara Virginia Beach General is looking for volunteers according to their website.

Are there other women around who would like to get involved in a book club?
Maybe you could start one with those interested.

Watercolor painting.... Can find lessons or tutorials for free online or a book.... Fairly cheap and does not take up much room..... Inbox. Ne and i can send you info.... Have to find it, i am on the road with only my ipad, bookmarks are on my laptop at home.
Or bake dog biscuits for sale or for shelters... My doggie is spoiled and turns his nose up at store bought.... Recipes online...
I also like the idea of a recipe forum... I am a newbie, but cooking like i do at home.... I have a micro/convection oven that scared me but am quickly living it,

I crochet afghans which I hope to sell. Also knit scarfs. I spend time on Facebook and I look at the post here everyday. I walk a couple times a day and read. If I was alone all day, I would probably try and meet some of the woman in the CG to do things with. Hope this helps.

crochet, knit, sew
read books - to yourself or at a center (hospice/hospital) to someone who can no longer read
play cards / board games - online or with actual 3D live people! LOL!!
volunteer - animal shelter / hospital / senior center / meals on wheels / local library or elementary school
write letters - either online or actual handwritten - find a military penpal
exercise - walk, swim, use equipment if available, ride a bike, play tennis, etc.
take a class - in anything! cooking, crafts, learn a new language - some classes can be done online thru a local community college
get a pet (if you don't already have one)
start a small business. does someone need their laundry or ironing done, cooking for them once a week, fresh bread or muffins baked, dog sitting during the day.

Thanks everyone! You all have great suggestions. I especially like the puppy treats and biscotti ideas. I have a good size pup who is spoiled already and know he would love for me to do this.
I have been interested in learning to crochet as well and thought it would be too hard. After hearing from people on here and other friends, I might just have to give it a go. I could always donate the finished products to shelters, hospitals, and nursing fascilities too!
Again thank yo to everyone. Sometimes it just takes an outside voice to jump start the mind.
