I am an RC Heli enthusiast and am wondering if there are any other RVers out there with the same addiction?

Got turned onto them back in 09' when I went to visit a friend up near Seattle...
I then really got blown away when my friend flew it via "First Person View"....WOW! Simply awesome!
Someday I'd like to have a similar setup, but for now, I'll take the training sim on the PC for now, until I get comfortable...and willing...to throw down for a decent heli...

I've been into rc cars, planes and the last few years heavy into helicopters. It's an addiction! 14 of them now. Mostly Raptors from 30 to 90 size. Nitro and electric.

Been flying RC for almost 30 years, mostly "plankers" fly a lot of IMAC which is how I got the RV bug. Somewhere along the way I picked up helicopers, Century Hawk, Fury Extreme, a few of the Blade series electrics. Seems like they will lend themselves well to traveling with the RV, may have to do the maintennace and knock the dust off of them. I fly the Northwest IMAC circuit, plan to do most of it in the RV next year, first year with an RV, really looking forward to it. Hope to run across others.

can someone tell of a reasonable priced helicopter to purchase. I bought one of the $50 ones and it would only fly less than 5 minutes before it had to be recharged. I have always thought helicopters would be fun. But I have heard they take a lot of practice to get good at flying them.
thanks, Tom

I have a couple of Parrot quadracopters. They are only good for 12 minutes, but are easy to fly.
I also have a HPI 5T 1/5 scale RC car that is powered by a hopped up Weed-eater motor.
I got the Segway for when the RC car runs out of gas.

I have my private pilots license for rotary flight. The cost to rent and keep up on my rating is so expensive that I tried my hand at RC Helis. I'll tell you that it is an addictive hobby if you have a lot of disposable cash. I was pretty good at 3D flying when I finally bailed out of the hobby. I hate to think of the money I burned through flying every weekend, not only in 30% nitro fuel be the cost and time to rebuild one, two, and at times, three heli's due to crashes. I carried enough stock in parts to repair them so I was never "Down" and would re-order what ever I used on a particular weekend so that I had parts ready for the next weekend crash.
I went through a host of 90 and 50 size 3D machines and a 50 size twin rotor Vertol. I now only have a scale Vario Bell 47 and a Trex 450SE electric.
Get out before it's too late
