Readers - BookBub
I wanted to let anyone who likes to read know about bookbub.com.
I am not associated with them in any way but have enjoyed their services for the past two years. The service is free.
You sign up at bookbub.com and tell them what genres you are interested in. Then, every day you will receive an email with a list of ebooks in which you might be interested that have been put on sale by Amazon and other electronic booksellers. The books range from free to $2.99.
Just on the free books you could quickly have a library of over 1000 books in a year.
About once a week you will get a second email about a new release from an author you might be interested in.
As a side note and nothing to do with BookBub:
There is an Android/iPhone app called Overdrive. This allows you to connect with many public libraries and download ebooks and audiobooks for free, as long as you have a library card.

I subscribe to Bookbub and have a library card. About 90% of the books I have read have been free via one or the other service on my Kindle.
ETA: I also use the Kindle Lending Library as a Prime member perk.

Yes, Kindle, Barnes and Noble, iBooks, Google, and Kobo
Some can't be downloaded to all of them but I haven't seen any that can't be downloaded into Kindle

I believe you are referring to Libby from Overdrive, although there is also an Overdrive app from overdrive as well.

Bookbub is good, but bookgorilla.com seems to provide a larger choice. Same concept. I am subscribed to both, and bookgorilla has all the bookbub suggestions, plus a lot more.

BookLemur is probably my favorite, but I've also found fee and cheap e-books on Reading Deals as well as BookBub. I know there are more... but I try not to find out about them because I've already got too many books to read! Great idea to post this suggestion, Susan!

BookBud has very few "free" books, with most they show as free, you actually need to have a membership in Amazon Kindle Unlimited to download free. So not so much. Chuck

Free eBooks | Project Gutenberg
Lots of free books that are out of copyright in pdf, Kindle, epub and a few other formats.
