Much of what we sell in the store are kits for which the patterns are original designs of mine, also notions and craft items we have designed and produced, and I am thinking about taking that part of the store mobile. Short term "Pop-up stores" are becoming quite popular, and there are also opportunities for teaching. My question for the RV quilters out there is what sorts of items would you find interesting or useful to buy while you are out in your RV? Feel free to PM me. Thanks!

Patti, I absolutely love your idea!!! Ready acess to supplies would be wonderful, and contact with other quilters and potentially sew ins, classes etc even better! I wish you the best in getting this off the ground and hope you stay in touch with this group as you progress in your research and (hopefully!) implementation.
As far as supplies, I would be most interested in miscellaneous items like thread, markers, seam rippers (a quilter's best friend as Harriet would say), needles, etc.

I love the idea of a traveling store too! Having essentials like machine needles, thread, etc., would be great. I absolutely love the idea of kits! If I get away without a project or if I finish one I brought from home then I would be looking for something else to work on! Please keep us posted on the progress.

Patti Brown, it sounds like a fantastic idea to me. I dont stay at RV Parks but I do quilt when Im on the road. I shop online a ton so a quilt site dedicated to mobile quilter needs is an awesome idea.

Top Ten

Please email me your list of the top ten quilting/sewing items you to which you would like access while on the road. Email: thervquilter@gmail.com

I am going to compile a list and would greatly appreciate your input!

Here is our new to us, 2011 Keystone Montana Mountaineer 347 THT Toy hauler/den. We bought this so DW can use the table, for her Featherweight for quilting tops. And i have a fold down counter to use for wood carving, and pyroagaphy.

greetings!

Hi, I am new to this forum. We are full-timing and on our way to Alaska for the summer. Presently, I am in Cochrane, AB and going to Banff tomorrow.
I decided I wanted to get back into sewing and quilting in particular. We were at the Winnebago Factory in Forest City IA and there is a very nice quilt shop there. For $5 you can bring in your machine and spend the day quilting. It was a nice break for me. Just started piecing but have not had a chance to pull out the sewing machine again. Hopefully soon!

Here is my wife's quilting area in our 2011 Keystone Montana Mountaineer 347THT 5th Wheel.
There is a fold down counter on the other end of the the room for my wood carving. Any sanding I do outside of course !

We love it, works great for hauling our Shwinn Trikes enroute! Wife packs her Featherweights in padded totes, and puts them under the desk, we put the Ottoman upside down on the Euro recliners, and set them along side the desk, and secure the trikes on the other side. Room for other items too!
