Sluice/Pan Gold

I'm new at this so be nice. I have a 4' used Sluice box, used 3 times. it has close, shallow rubber step tread glued in the bottom, removable Miners Moss over that, then a welded frame with 1" angle iron riffles with whole frame able to be raised up. I need to make the box shoot that you dump ore in and wash through with water. I'm making it to recycle all my water, by having two plastic barrels, one 30 gal. one 45 gal. with a two inch PVC pipe connecting them at right distance for my Sluice Box. the water from the Sluice will run off into the 30 gal., the two inch PVC pipe will be 3 inches from the top. the pipe will 5 inches from the top of the 45 gal., the pump will be 2 inches from the BOTTOM of the 45 gal. barrel and pump the water up to the Hopper on the back of the Sluice. I will fill the 30 gal till it runs down the pipe and fills the 45 gal up over 1 inch ABOVE the pump.
it should pump the water from the 45 and wash the ore WITH the water into the 30, and continue the cycle, a 30 gal barrel can hold a LOT of dirt before dumping.
any comments or advice?

Interesting, I too have caught the gold fever and would be interested in knowing how your "invention" works out although I'm sure there will be other sudo gold miners chiming in here. GOOD LUCK.
I'm still in the Panning phase. Haven't graduated to machinery yet.

I plan on taking my TT and two 50 gal water barrels and staying a week, I have a 1000 watt DC=AC inverter for the pump, I'm shore I wont use much of it. I am going to work a DRY arroyo I got good hits on with my Detector last year, Heavy Background noise. if you have panned Gold you know the hard part is washing out the waist and not the Gold, you have to shake the pan to keep the Gold in the bottom and wash at the same time. I am going to try something to make it easer, I have a hand vibrator that goes on the Back of the hand. I think if I have it on the back of my and wash dirt out of my pan the vibration in my pan would eliminate shaking the pan, you would just wash out the dirt.
what ya think?
