I love to write, and have quite a few "stories" that I have saved over the years. The problem is, I started copywriting for web pages a few years back, after my leg gave out on me, so technically I am "published" but not in the sense you refer to.
If you've got the bug, go for it. The market nowadays is much broader than it used to be, and even self-published books are gaining in popularity, not to mention electronic (kindle, amazon, etc) books.
I'd encourage you to join some kind of mentoring community, to gain useful feedback, and a good editor is essential, combined with a little thickening of the skin to absorb some of the feedback positively. Writers Village University is a good place to start, and a good editor friend of mine is Deb Plaugher.

Good advice here. There are also some good (and not so good) educational type books available for aspiring writers - pays to do your homework. A long time ago I had several short stories published (and a gajillion rejections). I gave it up when the family started wanting things like food, a roof over our heads, etc. as, except for a very few best selling authors, it was really hard to make a living writing. Good luck in your quest.

I have an e-cookbook in progress that is geared for RV cooking. I plan on finishing it up this spring. I also write articles and blog posts for others but havent really made much money doing it. I am hoping to make at least something off of the cookbook though.

I've done some writing but know nothing about publishing what I wrote. Dairy Goat Journal published a few articles some years ago, but as for publishing a book... not a clue.

Uhm...I half belong here. I write, but I'm also published. I've got a couple of books published, 200+ short stories published, 1 non-fiction book published, and over 2,000 non-fiction articles published. I've written a couple of comic books, and also have written, but not yet gotten produced, a few dozen plays. I'm a 6 time winner of the National Novel Writing Contest, a 3 time winner of the Script Frenzy Contest, and head the local/Maine charter of Script Frenzy's writing meetings. I also write a sort of "advice" column off and on. I am a full-time writer, that is my career/profession.
I'm planning to write a book on full-timing, a set of short stories about my travels as a single woman in a 40 year old MH with 11 cats and a bird. It should be interesting to write if nothing else.
I'm also planning to write an RV Cookbook, because I don't really like the ones out there and decided to start writing down the stuff I make. Most of the RV cookbooks I've seen so far, assume you've got a 45' MH with full kitchen or are cooking on a stick over an open fire, and serving sizes are always assuming you are a couple with 4 kids and a few guests. I just can't use any of them, as I'm single and have a tiny half sized oven. I don't need to make enough to serve 8 people, normal cookie sheets and cake pans don't fit in my oven, and I'm not cooking over a fire pit either! I got so frustrated trying to find an RV cookbook that is useful to single women in a small RV, that I came to the conclusion the only way I was going to find the book I want, is if I set out to write that cookbook myself!

Me. Been working on a personal narrative for a while. I have taken the print copy along to read and edit. I find that easier than reading on monitor and editing. Then edit computer master.
I, too, have thought about an RV (and/or Boating) cookbook, but probably will only create my own to have in motor home and aboard. So, I will be interested in any created from our midst <g>

We found the same thing! We have a 28' TT and it's just the two of us. We don't have a full size kitchen like in those huge MHs nor do we carry all the things mentioned in recipes I see for campers/RVers. If we bought them all we would no space to store them. We just have room for the basic spices/seasonings. Some recipes use 2 eggs for example. What do I do with the other four? Or 4 tbsp of flour. What do I do with the rest of the bag? Most recipes I see are useless to me. They contain too many ingredients the average TT owner wouldn't have on hand or would leave too much left over if bought for the recipe.

Maybe you can share some of those recipes here.
BTW, how do the 11 cats make out in your small RV? My three cats seem to be getting bored in our 28' TT even with the large outside cage they can go in and out of at will (from the bedroom window). We've been taking them out to the screen room almost every day to break the monotony for them.
