I'll do my best trying to explain my question
Before When I would turn the key on... all the lights and warning would come on and then in a few seconds they would go out except one. Once you started the engine and the air would build up they would all go out.
Now when I turn the key to the on position they all go out except 2 and one of them is the the circle with the exclamation mark (I think that's what it is) however once you start the engine they all will go out. Is this something I should be concern about?
Hope I made some sense
Thanks for any help

My Rv is an 02 Mountain Aire DP on Spartan Chassis
P.S. I'll try and get a pic...

Spartan uses either the "circle with exclamation point" (actually the circle is subtly a gear profile view), OR the "very clearly a gear profile view with a check mark inside" warning indicator to be "Transmission Fault Do Not Shift" indicator. Further the manual states "The transmission is not functioning properly and may not shift from the gear selected when indicator illuminates."

You might use the Allison console and check for any stored transmission codes... It's in you Allison manual or search these forums for a write-up on how to do this. It depends on your console model. This Allison brochure may be what you need to understand you console.

http://www.allisontransmission.com/s...t=SA3360EN.pdf

I'd also give Spartan a call and see what they have to say about it lingering on until the engine is running. May be nothing (or simple like slightly low fluid) or may be an indication of an impending problem that you have plenty of time to start dealing with on your terms...

The one that always stays on a bit longer than the other then goes out is probably the one on my panel that says "wait," meaning wait to start. Some engines have a symbol rather than stating "wait." As for the circle symbols, I have two. One has a check mark in the middle and the other has has a pole with three horizontal lines going from left to right on the pole (like an F with three lines). The first symbol is to "check transmission" the second it "trans over temp."

I went out and checked again and it's the gear with the exclamation point... It's goes out once the engine is started. I check for codes and their are none.
Tried to post a pic couldn't get it done.

Like I said, give Spartan a ring and double check in case this might be a pre-indication of anything... Also did you check fluid level - use the console and try the stick level too for kicks and giggles - needs to be HOT before you can. Allison prefers fluid checks using the console.

Frankly, I wouldn't worry about it beyond that...

Yes the fluid levels are oK as the indicator shows :-))

Since I live about 15 miles from where the tranny is made and have some friends that work there who are engineers. I think I'm going to give them a call tomorrow too.
They probably don't know nothing about warning lights:-)))
Thanks for all the help....

Now that's the ultimate diagnostic secret weapon!

It's likely one of their senders that's triggering the light... They may not know about the light but they sure will know what's triggering it!

Best of.... And let us know if you get any morsels of wisdom....

I had a very similar situation a few weeks ago. Although I didnt find an answer, linking the threads may be informative.

I did record the warning lights and buzzer on the cell phone, but dont think I can upload a video to this thread. If someone knows how, I will post it.

Stuck at truckstop with engine warning

I finally just started up and continued on the trip since I could find no transmission problem indication on the shift pad readout, or fluid level.

I will be watching for some help on the problem, here.

Ok I talked with my engineer friend from Allison and got what I thought I would get from him...."yep that why we put the senors in there so they'll let you know if something not right" He did say if the control panel isn't showing any codes probably nothing to worry about. Could be so many things loose wires, bad ground, etc.. etc...you get the picture. He suggested if I'm by a Allison tranny shop have them hook it up to the computer and see what's going on...funny I knew this

Ok, I talked with Dave at Spartan today...after doing some checking on my dash cluster he called me back and said they don't really know why it not going off. He said I should called a Allison Transmission shop and talk to them. I called Reliable Transmission in Greenwood In.(they changed my fluid to transynd) they told me the light should stay on until the engine starts and the tranny senses pressure then it would go out. I told them it wasn't on before...I'm taking it in tomorrow to let them hook it up to the computer and find out what it is. Everyone is saying it probably just a loose wire or bad Connection somewhere.
Does your light stay on or go off when you turn the key on...Don't start the engine.
