2011 Ventana 4375 Fire

We have a 2011 Ventana SE 4375 and recently had a fire in the engine area. We parked in a RV park, I put it in neutral then set the parking brake, and the sound of the air release a large black smoke cloud was at the rear of the coach. I immediately grabbed the fire extinguisher ran to the rear and dropped to the ground and extinguished a fire ball size of the width of the coach. Fuel was dripping on the ground. Well the coach was towed to a Freightliner/ Cummings dealer and they have pulled out several wiring harnesses including 2 that connects to the engine computer, the starter and engine computer to name a few of the major pieces. It looks like wiring wore bare from rubbing on the heat shield plate next to the exhaust. Every one should check for bare wires occasionally under their coach.
Weve been broke down now for 5 days and probably 2 more waiting for parts from Cummins and assembly at Freightliner.
Hey Newmar have you ever heard of such a disaster.

Yes, two years ago I found the engine wiring harness broke it's one mount and was laying on the exhaust pipe. Fortunately, I found it before damage occurred, only the cover had partially melted. All wires were fine. Mounted back up with two connectors and they are inspected each month now.

Full time and loving it!
