I have owned a 35 foot Winnebago vectra Pusher 230hp Cummins for about a year now. It drives fine down the Highway, But if in Construction, or on secondary roads where the road is crowned more or even just less than level, It leans to the right pretty good.. It's actually scared me a couple of times. It has a front sway bar, and Bilstien shocks up front( But who knows if they are any good). It also has RideRite Air bags in the rear, that I have tried to adjust to compensate for this problem but no Luck. I've also noticed the coach on level ground leans slightly to the right. Any Ideas on What I can do to cure this problem?? I've been thinking of installling a rear Sway Bar..

If I understand you to say that it has air suspension, the ride height may need to be set to factory specs. You could get that info from Winnebago owner relations by providing your coach s/n. Also, it it has the original shocks, they may be ready for replacement. The fact that the coach is noticeably not level when sitting still is a sure indication something is not right!! ...in addition to adjustment, it is possible that something is weak or broken on the right side or the rig, allowing that side to sag easily. A rear sway bar might help handling some, but the underlying problem of sitting unlevel needs to be corrected too.

The shocks do not provide ride height. They only control bounce and some sway. The air bags control ride height. You need to get the specs for your chassis. Call Spartan and give them your VIN. You may have a bad bag or air control not adjusted for the bag. If you bounce on the road over bumps a lot you may need new shocks, if the shocks are OEM with that age I would replace anyway. Adding a sway bar to the rear will not fix the problem. You should not need one with other componants in good working order.

Sorry for the confussion. It does not have air suspension. It has leaf springs front and rear, the air bags in the rear are after market bags for load carrying only. it has a sway bar in the front and I beleive it has a track bar in the rear, but no Sway bar..
Thanks
Steve

After finally having time to measure the ride height of the shocks, it's only 1/8th to 3/16's of an inch shorter on the right side. I looked over everything in the suspension and found nothing wrong. I had a hard look at all the mounts and leaf springs,Bushings etc. everything looks good. the only thing I couldn't check was the track bar bushings, not without taking the bar out, but it does look like the one bolt at the frame end of the bar is brand new. I'm still leaning toward a rear sway bar to help with the sway problem.. I do tow a small car trailer with this Motorhome but I don't think that has anything to do with this problem.. I wonder if lowering the axle bump stops would help out?? Hmmm

my previous rv was the exact set up as yours, a 94 Vectra on a spartan chassis...I finally had added an aditional leaf in the front and rear springs on the right side due to the fact that the generator and refrigerator and closets and pantries were on the right side..After I did this I had to have it realigned but it ran true after the added springs..If you can't add leafs, remove several and replace with stronger ones..A good truck spring dealer can easily do the job. I just talked to my Local heavy truck shop and he said something similiar. He suggested just putting an extra leaf in the rear. He said they do it all the time on Motorhomes.

Wel just got the MH back from the truck shop, they decided to try and Re-ARC the springs and see if the works. I'm taking it out on a 500 mile each way trip this weekend, so We will see if it worked..
