On another forum( Travel Supreme) there is much discussion about Spartan air bags leaking, either within minutes of shutdown to several hours. Spartan told one poster if they held up 4 hrs, they were within spec. Anyone else having these problems?

To; Slabman,
4 1/2 years and no problem with leaking air bags.
I think, the hotter it is when shut down , the longer it takes for bags to de-flate.
Spartan uses a hefty air bag , so unless you are overloaded, they should be fine.
Keep us posted and good luck.

Yes, we recently (2 weeks ago) had the leaking down problem. The tip off was when we shut down for fuelling and then had to wait for the air bags to fill to the point where brakes would release. Went to Coach Care (Cummins) in Harrisburg,PA where they found an air bag regulator valve on passenger side was in fact leaking. When they ordered replacement from Sartan they also found that there was a recall on a "Y" harness for the in dash guages. Spartan shipped both parts overnight at their expense and the next day both were installed where we were on the road again by noon. Spartan covered all parts and labor and our coach is 2 years old with 46,000 miles on it. We are happy campers, Ken, '04 DSDP....

Air bags can leak down when there is a leak anywhere in the air system.
Last year I noticed that when left inflated my coach would settle down to the frame within a few hours. So, at an FMCA rally I paid a technician to check the system.
He found that the a fitting on the air governor was loose, there was a leak at the rear right ride height valve and at the solinoid for the air horns.
He tightened down the governor fitting, the major leak cause.
Now that we're fulltiming, I'm bringing the rig to a Spartan authorized facility on Long Island in a couple of weeks (we'll be visiting family there). Their task is to test the entire air system and make any needed corrections.

We have a 99 American Tradition in the rental fleet that had this same fitting back out as well. We had noticed it leaking down over a short time, but could not seem to find it.
Took a while to actually find which fitting was the culprit. But I found it and re-installed it. Has not happened since.

Ever since I Purchased my DS 4320 it has been leaking, Spartan made adjustments at rally in Charlotte this summer and it was OK till I got home, then it started leaking again. Was at Factory for service and then said that it had several leaks on the supply line, installed check valves and it was suppose to solve problem. When i park for a couple of days the left front drops now, all the rest of coach stays up. I had Frieghtliner for 7 years before that and never had a leak.

Had a freightliner chassis on previous coach. Leaked and no one seemed to be able to fix it.
Not sure if it's a Spartan thing or find the right person who's fixed before thing.
I'm somewhat confused in that they put check valves in rather than replace the line or identfify the leak and fix appropriately. Money saving move maybe?

Mine did the same thing on a 98 dream. The problem was the rear height control valve. I replaced it and it has not bleed down in over 36 hours.
