I picked up a Spartan air brake tow kit at the NKK International Rally, and had it installed yesterday at Cummins Rocky Mountain Coach Care in Denver. The install took about 5 hours. The technician had to relocate and reattach the air lines for my SMI and M&G brake system after the install. Anyone who is considering an M&G or SMI or any other proportional air brake control for their towed vehicle should get this kit installed first. I wish I had known about it earlier.

Bill,

I was one of the SMI installers at the show. Glad to here that you got everything going. I remember that you had mentioned getting an air kit put in after the install. I am a little confused, however, about the relocating of the "air lines." They shouldn't have charged more than one or two tenths at the most. Routing the line is less than a five minute job all the way from the back of the coach to the brake assembly. In your particular application, you have one air line going to the back of the motor home. At the very end, there is a tee. That is where the line branches off to your AFO and M&G connections. Let me know if you have any questions about particulars on your install.
