Air Filter Replacement

I can't seem to find a way to remove my air filter from it's housing. Wondering if the entire end is attached to the filter and the whole thing comes out after removing one bolt.

Where is the best place to buy this filter these days? Spartan?

It is a one piece unit, i.e. you replace the entire thing.

Lots of sources online....just search on the part number.

Certainly available from Spartan.

DaveS is correct, one piece and easy install. I bought mine from rvchassisparts where I buy all my yearly filters.

Spartan says only replace when the indicator is in the red. It's really easy to dust an engine if you do not insure all connections are torqued to spec and leak-free. Even replacing the same clamps in the exact same position on the rubber connectors is recommended.

At FMCA Rally both Spartan and Cummins are now recommending replacing air filter once a year. Some have had the glue come apart from the paper in have gone into turbo and damaged the turbo. At the most 2 years to change air filter and the ones that get wet once a year. This info. has just been out about one year. Some of use the K&N AFE air filter which are serviceable and don't need to replaced just clean. Have had one on our 04 Essex with 500 ISM for 8 years now and over 100K miles and very pleased with it.
