If you don't have an awning rod, something like this looks like it will do the job:

True but my awning rod is about 6ft long and a bit awkward, pull rods are about 18 to 24 in.

It's interesting how the different chassis manufacturers choose to do things. I would have figured on Newmar using manufacturers with a more automatic arrangement.

My Monaco Diplomat doesn't have any lanyards that I'm aware of, but it does have a cable or chain attached to the suspension from the tanks so that when the jacks are extended the tanks start dumping the air.

Yeah, I have auto dump on the jacks as well. Good thing too, as I've yet been able to get them to do so, manually and by using the dump air switch on the consol. Don't know if I'm doing something wrong or it just doesn't work. Not a problem so far, so haven't really got into it. Anyone with the same or like coach, have any knowledge of this?

Speaking of Specific Coaches--- I have not seen any lanyards on my 2000 Eagle - Does it have them?

I have not done anything to any tank in three years I have had the RV.

thx Dale

The store at the Spartan plant had Camco awning openers for sale that some folks were purchasing to pull the lanyards. They are telescoping, so would fit easily in the entrance step storage area.

It’s on my list to purchase when I return home from my Fall travels.

Air tank lanyards

Most people use there awning or window awning hook. My lanyards are behind passenger front tire.

On our 2011 American Revolution, I find the red and green behind passenger side front wheel. I cannot find the silver.

There are actually 3. If you look at the frame rail ahead of the right front wheel, you will see the cable loops protruding through a hole on the frame

There are three (3) lanyards on our 2018 Newmar Dutch Star K2 Chassis on the passenger side right behind the front of the passenger wheel.
I use the Awning Rod to pull them but never really understood when they should be bled?

The tanks should be bleed whenever you do your pre check before you start out for the days drive. You only need to let a small amount of air out....just enough to make sure there is no moisture or oil in the tanks.

I have a 2005 NewmarMountain Aire K2 Cummins 400, we bought in July 2017 and I doubt very seriously if the tanks had ever been bled before we bought it and I had no idea it was supposed to be done. I tried to locate them using the information from previous posts but not finding them, would appreciate some help with the location, thanks.
