air up time...

our 2012 Entegra Anthem with Spartan MM chassis will take 5 to 20 minutes to air up before we can move. Been in shop twice to check for leaks. We will loose enough air in a few hours that we have to wait to air up again. after setting in camp for a day or more with jacks set, we loose 1/2 our air which is expected. but the process we have to use to air up is
1) repeat retract all for jacks, 2) dynamite brakes (pump them at least twice, and 3) reset the parking brake....set cruise contol to 1000 rpm... then, wait 5 to 20 minutes for air up. if it takes longer than 5 minutes, then i usually repeat #2 and #3 to try and speed up process.

looking at others comments in other forums about airing up, this is a long time. very frustrating.

Could be the compressor or air governor with a problem. Or if it is a bad leak then that size of leak shouldn't be hard to locate. But again if there is no leak and it takes that long to air up @ 1000 rpm then it would be deemed unsafe to drive down the road, period. A 2012 should not ba ANY issue to correct the problem..............Find a better shop. Don't drive it until you find the problem. You or an innocent bystander could be killed when you don't have any brakes.

If mine has been sitting for a month or more it would take less than 5 minutes. If I have been camping by the time the jacks come up she's ready to go less than 5 again. My procedure is unhook everything except power then I'll crank hit retract go unhook power put up cord and I'm ready to go.

Any thing longer than 5 minutes is too long. The air is rounted through an Air Dryer which might be faulty or restrictive for some reason also.

Have a nice day - Darrel

Seems too long. Try calling Spartan. You are under warranty and maybe then can either help you or put you in contact with one of their shops nearby.

Definitely a problem! You should not have to go through a song and dance routine..just start, "store" and in 5-8 min, the jacks should be up and your air system at 120..

Pretty much same procedure here. Although, I increase the fast idle to approx. 1300 rpms; rear valves will "pop off" in usually less than two mins.

if all we do is retract jacks a second time, the gauges will go up to 120+ psi and the valves "pop off"...BUT..that is not enough to raise the coach, even though the gauges show 120+ psi. we have to "add" hitting the brakes at least twice AND reset the parking brake, set cruise to 1000 rpm's then wait. also, because the air up process is "iffy" at best, we double check the clearance with the front tires to confirm that the bags are fully inflated, even though at times the gauges show full, but bags are not.
