Brake light failure
Out of the blue our brake lights for the Newmar and the toad stopped working. Have turn sigs and tails, I can jump the relay in the busmann box by the rr wheel and get lights. I've checked every fuse, elec box by front, newmar add ons in front busmann box in the rear. The brake relay in the back Busmann has 12v and ground good. Pulled the plug on the normally closed service brake switch, still no go. I'm sure this is not a first but I'm at witts end.

Could the small converter box that combines the brake signal from separate brake/turn circuits into one for the towed be faulty?
Of course that combiner box isn't needed if the towed has separate brake and turn signal lamps, so will not be present.
I have no idea about Newmar wiring,(those circuits should be Newmar installed) just thinking out loud.

Usually when you lose rear lights on a tow vehicle, you have wire damage in the rear harness to trailer/ toad, so start there and repair any damage found? Some of the newer computerized lighting (I read?) auto shuts off shorted circuits and sets a code. and sets separate codes for open circuits? Computer circuits everywhere?

Good points. Toad is in a wells Race Trailer, brake lights failed on the coach and the trailer. No brake signal at the 7 way plug or on the moho.
Turns and 4 ways work on both.

On my Entegra Cornerstone/K3 chassis there is a round fuse box in right rear compartment that has the turn signal fuses. I lost left turn signal on a trip, took toad to two different places and even had the coiled connector tested. Someone suggested the round chassis fuse box and there it was. Later had to replace the coiled connecter wires as it was corroded and plastic was cracking. No problems since.

Teamwally,
If I understood you correctly the brake light switch is normally closed. In looking at the wiring diagram I have that’s the way it is. Just wanted to know if I’m reading it correctly.
Thanks,
Richard

Gasman2, YES, Switch is Normally Closed if not installed, and rising, spring loaded Brake Pedal depresses and OPENS switch and turns Brake Lights= OFF. (Some vehicles) have a soft plastic button to press switch. If button fails, or falls out, Brake Lights= ON, as switch goes into a hole and is not depressed when pedal released.
