Doing a cursory check of all lights I find I have no brake lights.
Turn, running, and flasher lights work fine, so it appears the light
fixtures themselves are OK. Accordingly, there should be no grounding
problem either. I found a mini fuse up behind the frt. LH wheel
labeled "Brake Light" that is OK.
I'm wondering if there might be another set of fuses controlling this
circuit? Or maybe the brake switch is bad?
Anyone had a similar problem?

hi: if you have a 12v test light and can get to the brake light switch; check each side of the switch to see if 12v is at the switch. if there's 12v on one side-the fuses are o.k..take a jumper wire and connect the two wires - go to the rear and see if the brake lights are on. if they are on the 12v elec. system is o.k-replace or adjust the switch. if they don't come on you have a wiring problem. it's easier if there are two people-one to say"they're on or nope"

Thanks, Joe. I know where the brake comes through the firewall and there are a few sets of wires attached to it. Like ones for normally open and normally closed and then I think I saw a pair just labeled "brake". We attached the toad brake to one set as I remember. Is the switch simply a part of those little plastic connector-looking things? If so, I can definitely test and wire around that dude.

Have you open the lens of your brake lights and checked the bulbs and socket for them? You may just have corrosion that has to be cleaned up.

If they work for other functions, I would assume there's no connection issue. Or am I wrong on this? Also, I wonder what the odds are that BOTH light fixtures have the same problem?

On my w/horse chassis the brake light switch is near the brake pedal. There is a bracket that the switch fastens to & when the pedal is depressed the switch activates. Do you have separate lights i.e. amber t/s and red brake light. I wouldn't think an '07 would have a wiring problem: but it's a mh.

Bob: There is a bussman in the rear engine area. It has brake light fuses & relays. My Bussman had to be replaced under recall. You may want to talk to spartan about it. Rich P.S. the problem you described was exactly how my coach worked.

Bussman in the rear? WOW! I talked to Spartan today and was told the fuse panel at the rear was only for engine and tranny controls. HE said the power for the lights comes directly from the relay up at the LH frt. wheel compartment after being triggered from the brake pressure switch. So I'll looking into checking those leads. Actually, I don't believe I've ever found that rear panel...wonder if it's in the battery bay?

I'd also suggest checking out he bussman box at the rear of the coach. Our Spartan MM tag axle chassis has the bussman box in the rear most battery compartment. That box contains various fuses for several items (I don't recall if brake lights are in there or not) but I do know that the relays for brake lights and turn signals are in that box. Like yours, the flasher control is up front, but the relays are in the back.
I had an issue that my brake lights quit working when I pressed the brake pedal due to a bad relay from the factory. I changed out the relay and all was fine. For testing, you can swap relays from location to location to see if you can solve the problem.

Correct me if I'm wrong - but it is my impression that a DP must be 'aired up' for the brake light switch to work. Apparently, it is an air operated switch.
Are you trying the brake lights with the chassis aired up?

Slabman,
Have you pulled the bulbs and reseated them? Some times the contacts get dirty and do not make connection. Use a pencil eraser and rub the contacts in the fixture and the bulb. I have had this happen on my coach, bulbs good, fuses good but no lights until I pulled bulbs.
