Just got this in the mail CSB07-340-011B
A condition exits where the tag axle cover may melt. The correction is to replace the wheel bearings.

I had my tag axle covers melt on the way home from the dealer in NC. They were replaced under warranty. They were melted and leaking gear oil. Sounds like there is a serious problem with the wheel bearings. I wonder if this has anything to do with the problem I have keeping the "High Hats" from flying off. This is my second set in 4000 miles.

Do you have any information on the chassis/model years this CSB applies to?

The "high hats" are a problem when you have them off bend the c-shaped retainers a little tighter. Check them as often as you check hub temperature. Rich

when I brought mine in for the slack in the steering the shop noticed the tag bearings were bad.....Just like you said there is a heat ring that they noticed had changed color.
