Thanks for all the hlp in the past - one more question.
How do I get to my evaporator coils on the dash a/c of my Gulf Stream Scenic Cruiser 1996. I have the front access generator and I know I have seen some recharge valves under the chassis from the outside. Just nee to know if I must get to the coils from the inside or outside I guess.
The dash a/c blows warm - no surprise so far. However when I had my shop take a look at it they tried to charge the system, and could never get the low side to increase even after putting 300psi on the high side. Based on that I am willing to spend the $50 to $60 on a new expansion valve which is most likely clogged and the culprit of the separation between the low and high side. This valve is connected to the evap coil.
Anyway, I will have the system evacuated of refrigerant before I do anything, but to get to the coils. My shop said that for $500-$600 they could most likely fix it, but we were also in agreement that $600 buys an awful lot of propane for the generator that powers two perfectly good roof a/c's...lol.
Anyway, thought I would ask. Also any other online resources to read up on this kind of thing.
Thanks as always.
Brian
