Econo Cruise control

We are newbies (one year) and have joined because the site looks like a good place for all kinds of info. We have an oldie, a 1994 Holiday Rambler Imperial, 8.3 Cummins on the intermediate Spartan chassis. The coach is equipped with Econo Cruise electronic cruise control that worked intermitantly but now has quit. Looked the company up on line and see that they were out of the UK but have shut down. Anybody had experience with this unit and have some advice. Thanks.

There are some general things to check, such as making sure the cutoff switch, which may be separate from the brake light switch, is not continually activated. That would cause the cruise not to engage.
Do you know if the cruise control is vacuum operated or electrically operated? That is, does it have a small electric motor working the throttle, or does it have a vacuum diaphragm?
Obviously, check for power to the unit, and check the grounds and fuses. Many of these problems are simply bad grounds, because the coach sits for long times and corrosion builds up on the connections.
Many of the "repairs" I do consist of simply spinning an electric motor or wiggling a connector, and things starts working again.
