How do I find out what replacement filters to use for my air filter & fuel filters? Spartan chassis with Cummins 450 hp ISM motor.

I want to order the replacements via the internet as I won't be near a service center for a while.

Thanks

Mark

I just called Spartan last week, gave them the last 6 digits of the VIN and they pulled the info up.

I ordered an air filter from rvchassisparts.com.

you can look them up at Baldwin Filters | Home . It will give you all your filters. Some folks have ordered from Discount oil filters H&S Industries - Lodi, WI I have not used them yet, but the pricing is supposed to be good.

I think that you will find that there is no Baldwin(or anybody else) substitute for some of the cummins ISM filters, at least not for the oil filter (fl 9001). Just my experience.

If you open the can w/the existing air filter, it should have the filter number printed on the end.

The oil filter is the same, tho if it is original, there may be engine paint overspray on the filter which might obscure the part#. If its not original, # should be easily visible. As far as filter changes, I would not use Baldwin especially for oil. They sell a filter that fits, but it is not comparable to the FleetGuard filter Cummins makes. Weigh the two and you'll see.

I use all Baldwin filters for my ISM. Your using the short filter. Just use the 9000 and cross it to Baldwin. You can also use Wix which is also Napa Gold.

Call Spartan with your VIN number and they will tell you all your filter numbers. RVCHASSIS.COM is Spartan parts website. A couple of months back I ordered my air filter and air dryer filter after comfirming the correct part numbers with Spartan. Also it is cheaper to order from their internet site than request them from Spartan Service or at least that what the service rep told me.

Just a thought, I would stay with fleetguard while the engine is under warranty. Keeps Cummins from pointing to the filters as a potential problem because fleetguard is their filters.
