After seeing a discussion of a mysterious front wheel noise on the Work Horse chassis forum (cured by a Workhorse tech spraying lubricant on the spring to chassis connection), I thought I would ask about my strange noise. I have an '02 Mountain Master GT chassis (modified by Winnebago) under my '03 Ultimate Advantage. We bought it new, now have 4 1/2 yrs and 48k on it. As long as I can recall, nearly every time we depart from a campground, when we turn to the right we hear a creaking noise that seems to be coming from the right front wheel. I don't recall ever hearing it when we turn to the left (most pull-through site exits are to the right), and I don't recall hearing it later enroute, just in the first turn or two to the right after starting up. Anyone heard a similar noise? ...and suggestions on the cause/cure??

AFChap, I think I have the same chassis and I have never heard the noise you descibe. I don't recall any noises from the front end.

Paul, We too have a MM chassis. A couple of things to look at/for assuing you have a Reyco/Granning front axle. Check all the fasteners for tightness and look at all the bushings. My guess it's one of the two.

Paul, We have the 03 Advantage also. Never had a noise problem, other than bag creak when first moving. Never noticed whether it was to the right or left. Only problem I had was missing right front torsion bar bracket (on the axel side). Discovered by my tire dealer. I ordered the part from Spartan and he replaced it for me.

"bag creak" ... I wonder if that is what we are hearing? That might make sense, as I don't recall hearing it after the first turn or two after airing up and departing a campground ...may just be suspension components settling in after the bag having been deflated and re-inflated... I have had the front end checked, but I will roll under there myself on a pleasant day and see what I can find...
