Hydraulic Filters

Will service my chassis hydraulic system soon. Tank has label to use only AW46 hydraulic oil, so no problem there. Contacted Spartan with my VIN# asking for the filters. They said internal is 87610A, $19.96. External is #1625-FF1-0A1, $29.41. Per Cummins, the original external filter #HF6805 is obsolete and replaced by HF6836. Best price I could find was $75.78.

My point is shop around. If it is a DIY item and you are only replacing parts, why not save on those parts? Think I'll go with Spartan on this one.

If purchasing a number of items from Cummins being a member of the Cummins Power Club gets you 10% discount on parts and labor at any Cummins location. Cost 19.95 a year.
Spartan has their parts trailer at major rallies like the FMCA rally in Minot ND in the middle of Aug. and have special pricing there.
