I have a 2006 MM chassis with tandem axle. I have now lost the 4th hub cap 3 R/F and 1 L/F. I guess I'm not getting them fully seated or ?

Is anyone else having a similar problem? If so is there a fix?

Ronnie

Two or three drops of silicone. Our Mountain Aire was throwing the rears, so I put drop of silicone in three places and put caps back on, have not lost one since. Yes you can still get them off for service with out any problem.

You can also take a pair of pliers and bend the tabs out a bit so they fit tighter. This might help.

Had similar problems on an 05 - put 3 spots of clear silicone on each, as Gary suggested, and didn't lose any others.

This has been a long standing issue. I have begun to purchase them several at a time. At the NKK International rally, in Du Quoin, the vendor who makes the cover, for Spartan, was there. They have a new cap attachment scheme. This was available for customers around May 2008. They put two of the new design on my coach for free.

After 2K miles the covers are solid against the wheel. Time will tell if this is the real fix.

Consider calling Spartan and getting a pair of the new covers.

The Spartan vendor is:

I have an '02 chassis on my '03 Ultimate and have never had any hubcap problems. My fronts have a hole in the center so I can see the hub oil level without removing them. I wonder if Spartan changed the attachment system between '03 & recently to cause them to come off easier??

While in Forest City a few people came into the display area and made comments about loosing their Alcoa hub caps. Some of the OEMs will make good on restoring the caps under warranty if the vehicle is still covered.

Hmmmmm.

I wonder if it's an Alcoa issue.

I have Accuride wheels and have not had a problem.

I too have the Accuride wheels. I was washing the coach yesterday and 3 of the caps were nearly off. I'll be at Spartan tomorrow & will add these to the list.
