On our trip from Phoenix to San Fran I noticed the rear air guage fluctuating from 130 down to 95 and back again. This would happen over a 1 to 2 minute time frame on bumpy roads or 3 to 5 min. on smoother roads. I have searched for a air leaks high and low with no success. I did notice that if I wiggled the height adjustment valve in the rear a little that it would dump or fill the bags. Could this be set too sensitive? Any ideas would be of great help.

Thanks,
Chris

The air levelling valves are operating all the time, especially on bumpy roads. They dump air from the suspension when the body bounces above normal ride height and recharges it when below. This accounts for a steady air use which of course reduces the pressure. This occurs in the secondary/front tank. This tank is also usually half the size of the rear primary tank as it is divided into both the secondary and the wet tank. This would also account for quicker exhaustion when the suspension has to work harder.

I was hoping that was it. Just got a little worried seeing the rear air pressure go up and down for most of our trip. Started to think we had a loose air line that was going to let go and lock up the brakes on the side of the road in the middle of no-where. California roads are seriously bumpy. I think half my fillings have bounced out.

Thanks for your quick reply Lug_Nut. I love this forum, full of great people!

Chris

If you can do it why not check the fittings into air bag in case ones loose.

I am pretty sure I can get to those. I will give that a try.

Thanks,
Chris
