I use a Fumoto valve , draining the oil into milk jugs. Works GREAT -- and the 1 gal jugs are easily transported to the recycling facility.

Happy Travels

Sounds to cheap. I know my 500hp Cummins uses about 35 quarts of oil. I think if you pay around $ 200+ your probably in the right ballpark. The last time I have mine done I did the generator also and it was about $250 without the filters other than the oil filters.

If I'm not mistaken you might even get a grease job with that.

If I remember correctly the price varies according to engine size. My 400 ISL is considered a medium duty engine so my price was $159. Heavy duty engines are more. They also do generator service.

Here is the email sent to me from Speedco in regards to our oil change.

" Thanks for your interest in Speedco!

Based on the information provided I am guessing that your motor home has a Cummins ISB engine. If that is the case then the cost of the PM would be a base price of $109.99 plus a $9.99 environmental fee and taxes. Additionally, the service only includes two filters so there would be an additional charge of $12.98 for the fuel/water separator. So in total you would be looking at a cost of $131.96 plus tax for the service.

You do not need to make an appointment as all of our shops operate on a first comer/first serve basis "

Some posts have mentioned installing a Fumoto valve the next time you change oil. You don't have to wait until the oil is drained.
Use a shop vacuum at the oil fill ......use a damp rag to "seal" the "connection". With the shop vacuum turned on you can remove the oil drain plug and replace it with the Fumoto valve without loosing a single drop of oil. I would suggest you use a second person to make sure the vacuum hose stays connected until the valve is installed.

Romeo, That isn't going to happen. And Washington is a little far from Florida to show you how to do something as simple as changing the oil drain to a valve using a vacuum. You would need a engine-driven, jet-powered, sooper-duty vacuum to lift engine oil up and out of the engine crankcase. I really doubt you have a vacuum like that. Try it.....you'll like it.

I installed a Fumoto valve with the shop vac method and did not lose one drop and I honestly mean not one drop. My wife assisted with the shop vac.

There you go Romeo..........an unsolicited testimony.

PS be careful teaching your wife to operate power equipment.

If your engine is an ISB the price is correct and will include a chassis lube+tire inspection.

Generator service is another $35 or so and includes oil, oil filter and fuel filter.

Oil analysis is another $20 or so.

Another advantage to Speedco is that all of your fluids will be nice and hot.

Hummmm, well, if Norm confirmed it I just might try it. I do have a superduper Craftsman shop vac, however.

I am, somewhat disappointed that you will not be here to help me. I was going to have you pull the plug while I operated the vac....
