Parking Brake

We have an American Tradition 38 TF - IC 2242 motor home.

I'm wondering if anyone else has had the problem with the parking brake locking up after the motorhome has been sitting for a while.

This only happens when I park after driving the coach in the rain or on wet roads.

On our unit, I set the air brake to level the coach. Sometimes it could be parked for a week to a month at a time.

If anyone could help me eliminate this problem, I sure would appreciate it.

We are on the road now, but I will do my best to answer any questions you have.

The issue may relate to lack of lubication of the brake cams. Cleaning and lubricating the cams and safts may correct this.
If ever you get your brakes wet and stop for the night when freezing conditions may exist, you would be wise to chalk your wheels and release the park brakes. The linings can freeze to the drums.
