Power steering fluid change.

Just a comment, I just changed out my power steering fluid and internal filter. I really feel a much smother handling coach. 2012 MM chassis, solid steer axle.

Don't you have spin on filter also.

You know I really don't know? I do know the service manager was recently at Spartan for continuing education so I suspect so. With this service the internal hydraulic filter and the spin on were both changed. Is this the spin on your referring to?

Thanks for bringing the spin on filter to the thread. Many know about the spin on but not the internal filter or filters in the reservoir.

Gonna show my ignorance here!! Does the power steering get is fluid from the main hydraulic tank or is there a separate tank for power steering fluid? I have had my Dutch Star for less than 2 months so I'm not sure.

I may be corrected but my belief is their one in the same. I specified "power steering fluid change" and that's what I received. I researched on the above maintenance requirements top "sticky" they indeed are one and the same.

I did this job recently also. It's a pretty easy task. The tank has a drain on the bottom. I put a funnel under the drain plug, attached a junk hose to the end of the funnel and drained the fluid into a five gallon bucket. Wal Mart recycled the old fluid.
