Putting in a Air compressor Governor in a 1999 Eagle
I am wondering if anyone can tell me the best way to put in the governor for my compressor on my 1999 spartan chassis motorhome. I tried for a hour and a half to get the old one off and just got dirty with no luck. Pictures is the best way that I can relate to and would work for me. Thanks John

Maybe my 1999 Eagle is different than yours, but looks like a piece of cake....are you sure you're looking at air governor?
The D2 air governor is mounted to frame just behind muffler. I've added pics one from rear, one from underneath and one from the right rear compartment.

Boy I wish Mine was there. Mine is on the compressor inside the frame. I wonder if yours was moved at one time because of the pain in the a** it is to get at. When I do get the governor off i am going to look at doing what your setup is for better access. Thanks John

Thanks for the pictures. They do help me. My coach was built in Nov of 1998 so they might have moved from the where my is to your location.

John,
My governor is mounted in the same location as Mackwrench.
I own a 2003 Travel Supreme 40DS02 and have had to replace mine as well.
Spartan has been mounting the governor in that location as a standard location since at least my chassis was built. You might want to touch base with Spartan to see if they have a parts list for doing a conversion of the location.

You know I still have air discharge from my air tanks and the front end goes down In 2 hours. I must have a leak somewhere but tired of looking so we'll see. Thanks John

I am wondering if I need to adjust the air cutout on my new governor. When I installed it the cutout is 120 psi and my old governor was 130 psi. Been wondering what other coaches are running. Thanks John

120 is fine, but if you want more, remove the black plastic end cap on governor it'll just twist off, you'll see a threaded slotted end with a locknut under the cap. Loosen the locknut and using a flathead screwdriver back it out a 1/2 to a turn, snug the locknut and see what you have for psi....
You don't need to bleed air off system to make this adjustment.
Too much air? Screw adjuster in.
The tank excessive pressure pop off valve is 150psi.
