We just bought a 1995 Gulfstream about 64K miles very clean well taken care of and I'm fixing anything that I can find that maybe wrong with it so we can start traveling in a year or so, my problem is the steering, when we first got it I thought it was me not being use to driving it, it was a bull to turn and about 60 to 65 it starts to shimmy in the front end. So I had the front end aliend and the toe end was off this seemed to help a great deal but still there is a lot of lose play in the streeing coloum and still has the shimmy over 60, when we frist got the motorhome I was looking around in this site and read something about a recall on Spartan front ends something about a bracket that cracks or get lose, I know the recall won't help me but I will fix it or have it fixed. Can anyone give me some info on this or tell me where to locate the Bracket? We have taken it on a couple of 100 to 200 mile trips and loved it. Were looking foward to seeing the country. Consider calling Spartan and finding where an authorized service center is near you. They should be able to diagnose and repair any chassis problem. If that does not work, like many of us, a pilgramage to the Spartan factory may be one of your trips.
